It’s been a while since I last did prints<\/a> (and I didn’t even write about the process of prepping prints). To be quite honest, I was little away from photography. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the year 2020, in the midst of a panic in both PhD and life in general, I picked up my camera again. (Well, didn’t completely<\/em> put them down… but you get what I mean…) And during the conversation with my secondary supervisor during a physically-distanced-walk (when that was allowed), I remembered that I have not done any prints for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

As mentioned, I had some photos from the new years that I liked, and had a few more that was taken anywhere between that last prints in 2018 and now. Back in 2018, I picked a fairly fancy printshop but I was aware of another printshop snapmad, recommended by one of my friend CJ<\/a>. It’s a lot less formal and much more affordable, so I decided to give it a go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result was pretty good. I am quite satisfied in both the quality and price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ended up with four 6″x4″ prints and one 6″x6″ print. I even opted for extra border, changing paper to glossy, and added thin backing for easier mounting. With shipping, I ended up paying 7.49 GBP. 1.5 GBP per photo on average for this felt like a pretty good deal. No wasted paper, ink, or time on failed prints. Just need to prep the data by doing a soft-proof and adjustment for sRGB (or opt for pro-colour correction). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As much as it’s nice to post photos online and get response, it is great to have them as a physical object. I think it’s definitely worth spending a bit if you have some photos that are just sitting in your digital archive. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
